If you would like to purchase a commercial video surveillance system, there are different types to choose from. Below is information about four types so you can purchase a system and get it installed.

Thermal Cameras

If you are getting vandalism and threat outside your business, a thermal camera will work well for you. These cameras have low light capabilities which allow them to take better images when it is dark outside. This will ensure that the camera will capture any activity that happens in the dark. This allows you to see the person or persons that broke in or caused damage to your building. Thermal cameras are important if you have a large site where you need 24-hour protection.

High-Definition Cameras

High-definition thermal cameras are often used by companies. This is because you will see one of the best resolutions on the video feeds that you look at. This will help you identify the threat that was at your company.

If you want an even higher resolution, you can choose high-definition 4K security cameras. You will also hear these referred to as Ultra HD cameras and have a high megapixel resolution. This type of security camera system will cost you more but is well worth the price if your company is located in a high-crime area.

License Plate Detection Security Cameras

If you think someone can drive up to your building and break in instead of breaking in through a back door or a window, you should consider purchasing a license plate detection security camera.

This type of camera takes images of license plates on cars. It can even block out glare that comes from headlights and/or brake lights so you can see the numbers and letters on the license plate clearly. You could then give this image to the police so they can find the intruder much easier.

Wireless or Wired Cameras

When you start shopping for your video surveillance system, you will find some systems are wireless and some are wired. With wireless, you will not have to have any type of electrical outlet to plug in the cameras. A wireless system does run on batteries, so you have to make sure the batteries stay charged and are working properly.

A wired security camera is hardwired so once installed it cannot be moved easily. In most cases, they are connected to some type of storage device using cables. One thing to consider with a wired security camera is it will not work if the power goes out in your building. One way to take care of this is to use a battery backup along with the camera.
